Rules of Entry

This year's competition is now closed. The ifollowing is provided for information only.

Entries accepted subject to agreement to the following rules:

To be eligible for the competition, bands must comprise between 2 and 5 members. It is understood that some bands do appear in various forms but as far as the competition is concerned the number must be within this range.
All band members must be over 18 years of age on 1st July 2007.
To be eligible, bands must have four tracks uploaded to the band's MySpace page as submitted on the application form.
All tracks must have been composed by band members and performed by the band.
Bands are not eligible if any lyrics or song titles are deemed by the organisers to be offensive.*
The organisers reserve the right to disqualify bands that are found to have subsequently (after acceptance of their entries) uploaded material that is deemed by the organisers to be offensive.
Bands accepted for entry will be added to the Bands page of this website in the order that their correctly completed entry forms are received.
Bands are not eligible if they are already signed for a recording contract
If the band is found to be signed prior to submitting their entry they will be disqualified, deleted from the website and other publicity and their money will not be refunded
There will be an exception to the previous clause in the event that a band is signed for a recording contract after submitting the entry and prior to the event taking place. In this case, the fee will not be refunded but the entry will remain in place on the website with an explanation and congratulations to the band. The band will not be eligible for a place in the final
We will not enter into any discussions with the band members or their representatives in any matter relating to the vetting and selection of applicants, the selection of finalists or the voting and judging processes. The organisers' and judging panel’s decisions will be final.

* Your MySpace page is at risk of being deleted by MySpace if you publish offensive material, so it's not a good idea regardless of the competition rules!
